Creativity Workshop — Free and Open to Everyone
By Ruth Ferraz
If you’ve ever thought art wasn’t possible for you because it’s too difficult or you worried about cost, this workshop is for you. I believe creativity should be accessible to all, which is why I’m offering a free Creativity Workshop.
I was 30 years old before I learned to draw realistically, thanks to Dr. Betty Edwards’s book, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. Her methods showed me that with practice, anyone can learn to draw — not just those “born” with talent. I also draw inspiration from the ideas of Dr. Norberto Keppe, who believed art’s true role is to bring out the good, the beautiful, and the pure. These perspectives guide me as both an artist and a teacher.
In my first Mentone workshop (March 2025), people who thought they could never draw discovered they could. For me, it was powerful to see. Teaching reminds me that we all grow by learning together. Alongside Edwards’s techniques, I’ll include simple Brain Gym exercises by Dr. Paul Dennison to connect the hemispheres of the brain, body, and mind.
This workshop welcomes beginners, artists, and professionals from any field. Creativity supports problem-solving, focus, and joy in everyday life — not just in art. Together, we’ll practice “seeing like an artist” and noticing details with patience and curiosity.
You can appreciate my art visiting my website: RuthFerrazArt.blogspot.comand see not just my last 11 Oil on Canvas for my Art Exhibition in Boom Town Makers Market last July, but many other canvases I have painted during my lifetime.
