Jesus uses the metaphor of “rivers of living water” to describe the spiritual life and abundance that come from trusting in Him. Jesus had earlier told the Samaritan woman that He could give her “living water” that would never run out (John 4:10–14), symbolizing the Holy Spirit and eternal life. In John 7:38, He promises that those who believe in Him will experience a continuous, life-giving flow from within — a “fountain” of spiritual refreshment.
